Welcome to the Grant Veenstra Golf Academy

Do you have the right knowledge, the right arsenal,  the right training, the right mentor’s voice, whispering nuggets of wisdom in your mind as you step up to the tee?

The GVG Academy is about more than just teaching golf technique; it’s about developing the player into a person of excellence, able to cope with the pressure of The Game.

Teaching Philosophy

One of the key elements that differentiates the GVG Academy apart is the empowerment of players to understand their own swing, to own the training to such a degree that the player can identify why a shot wasn’t perfect and the coach can step back and become a mentor.

Putting

Battleground of the Month

The best putters make a stroke where the putterhead creates the triangle’s base and the grip end is the point. Can you picture that?

Alot of golfers think the key on long putts is speed and shorter putts are more about line. Actually, speed is critical on all putts. The pace of the ball dictates the size of the hole. If you hit a putt firmly, the effective width of the cup might be two inches, but if the ball is rolling slowly, the cup might play twice as wide. So let’s work on your speed.

Caitlyn Macnab

Player of the Month

“The first thing we realised when we arrived at Ardglass was that we would have to dig really deep and get very creative,” said Macnab.

GolfRSA Elite Squad player Caitlyn Macnab won the U-16 Competition in the 90th Girls British Open Amateur at Ardglass Golf Club in Ireland.
